- Claim Chart
You can create useful claim chart using the Claim Chart function in the Patent View function. This function supports understanding of a claim or a scope of the patents by identifying the same components (rows) in the claims.
Usually a claim chart is produced automatically when a patent was loaded in the Patent View function. If the claim chart is proper, you can output the claim chart by XML format or copy the claim chart to clipboard and paste the claim chart to the another software.

But, sometimes you might want to amendment the claim chart. For example, gather plural components to one component, split one component to plural components. In such cases, you can create such customized claim charts easily by using this Claim Chart function. We will introduce how to create custom claim chart in the following.
By way of example, we will explain how to gather “an inlet;”, “an outlet” and “ and a logitudinal axis;” (claim. 12) to one component (row).

In such case, you should change 3 separated rows in the text area below to the left to one row by using delete key.

Then click “Done” button upper to the center make new claim chart in the right area (this is preview area).

The separated components “an inlet;”, “an outlet” and “ and a logitudinal axis;” are integrated to one component.

The XML output file is also changed (integrated).

You can split one component to plural components by separating one row to plural rows.
