Feature of the Patent View

Patent View

Perusal patents using Patent View function. By way of example, we read United States Patents Granted 6,843,232 (USP6843232). Select a “USP” from a patent publication name combo box at the upper right. And type patent publication number 6843232 in the input box at the upper right. Then full-text of the patent will be read in main area.

Patent View has a useful tab-browsing function. If you type another patent publication number, new tab Patent View will be created, and the patent will be load in the tab. And you can change these tabs by mouse or a shortcut key “ctrl + f” (shift to left tab), or “ctrl +g” (shift to right tab). And you can close these tabs by click cross mark in these tabs or type a shortcut key “ctrl + w” (close current tab).

Show Figures: PDF Original Patent

To show figures of the patent, click “IMG” button. Click “IMG” button twice zoom the PDF patent to full screen. And if you click furthermore, the display will be change initial screen (full-text only).

Highlight View

If you want to highlight some keywords, click “COLR” button. The COLR window will be popup.

You can enter some keywords and type enter-key or click “Done” button emphasize the keywords in the patent and show the distribution of the keywords next to the scroll-bar.

You can choose various color of the highlighting keywords.

Division View

You can divide the main area showing full-text patent by clicking “DIV” button. You can read patent specification while keep displaying patent claims. It is suitable for writing remarks and amendments for patent rejection.

Memo Function

Memo window will be popup when you click a memo icon button.

You can edit input area of the memo window freely.

You can set any rating to the read patent publication.

You can set any Bookmark to the read patent publication.

Bibliographic Data

You can check the bibliography of the patent by click “bibl” tab and choose “Bibliography” tab.

Patent Classification Explanation

The explanation of a patent classification of the patent will be retrieved by click “VIEW” button in “cls” tab of the “bibl” tab.

You can choose any level (e.g. IPC: section, class, subclass, maingroup, subgroup) of patent classification.

Claim Chart Function

“Cl. chart” tab is the support function of creating claim chart. You can save claim chart of the patent as XML format which is readable by a spreadsheet program e.g. Excel and Open Office etc… by click “XML output” button.

And you can copy the claim chart of the patent to clipboard by click “Copy to Clipboard” button. And you can paste any spreadsheet program and editor program.

Patent View from Search Result Control

You can use patent view function for any patent population from search result control. To use patent view function, choose “VIEW” from “MENU” in the search result control.

Then the display will be change to the “Patent View”. And the patent population will be loaded right-side of the software. You can put any patent to the new tab of the Patent View by click the page icon.

Manage of Patent View History

The full-text of a patent publication will be stored in the local database, if you load the patent publication in the Patent View once. And you can manage these patents using “DOCUMENT RECORD” popup window is opened by click folder icon button at the upper right.

You can set any memo, ratings and bookmark to each patents.
